Brief

Provide a weather proof enclosure about the Vergola. The client wished to make daily use of the semi outdoor entertainment area and enjoy the views over Balmoral beach regardless of the weather conditions.

The blinds had to remain inside the verandah area due to strata restrictions and were to be manually operated.

 

Solution

Marine grade clear sheet PVC blinds with rope operation. Powder coated track was used to  provide a water seal and blend into the existing steel work. A small blind was required over the BBQ to act as a bind break. 

 

Response

Client is able to enjoy the outdoor area on a daily bases and is especially fond of the ability to easily choose which blinds to have down depending on the direction of the wind and or the rain. Sound complaints from downstairs neighbours are a thing of the past. The Vergola Roof System can be open to provide air flow whilst the clear blinds can be down to prevent the strong sea breezes disrupting meal times and the candles remain alight!
